Ties That Bind

Khara Schonfeld's "Ties That Bind" jewelry line is reconstructed art, fusing vintage and new jewelry with secondhand neckties. The artworks meld the media of fiber and jewelry, creating a balanced contrast between the softness of fabric and the resilience of metal, stone or plastic. By taking overlooked secondhand items and giving them new life, this line also lessens impact on the environment. The memory and sentiment of their previous function serves to enhance the new creations, combining items once “tied” to masculinity as new artworks for women.

Personalized Creations
Individualized pieces can be commissioned. The artist will transform your ties or jewelry into a unique work of art. Using a Father’s tie and mother’s jewelry makes a perfect gift for a bride to be.
